I am a conspiracy theorist. Spreads fake news. Be controlled by foreign powers. Endanger public safety and order.
I wear a tin hat. I like it; it suits me. It is how you recognize me as a confused, dangerous conspiracy theorist who deliberately spreads mere rumors, false information, fake news that cannot withstand a fact check. What I give of myself is absurd, unscientific, ridiculous. I can cause panic and conflict. I could radicalize you. I could get you to pick up a gun and kill someone. I am an agent of Putin, at least friendly to the Kremlin, or controlled in some other way by foreign powers, but otherwise a neo-Nazi right-wing populist, but maybe also a left-wing extremist. In any case, I am a threat to public safety and order. I should be scared off with fines or threats of imprisonment. You have to keep an eye on me; the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is already doing it. The Mannheim-Heidelberg Police Department came close to identifying me. I worry about the EU. If I were in Sachsen, I would be on the verge of being admitted to psychiatry.
And why is all of this so? Because I am a journalist to whom the code of honor of his profession is still sacred – apparently in contrast to almost all colleagues in so-called “quality” and “leading media.” because I do research. And I write texts that do not fit into the business of hyperactive state leadership and everyone who collaborates with it, who will do their thing and dance to their tune. Because I describe the hygiene dictatorship for what it is: disproportionate and unconstitutional because I use social media like Facebook after there are no other publication options for system-critical journalism. And because I can still distinguish an irrational conspiracy theory, a pipe dream, from an obvious guess, a well-founded suspicion, convincing evidence. Because I see through that “conspiracy theory,” “fake news,” and “fact check” have long since become rhetorical warring terms of ideologues who put annoying criticism aside by discrediting critics. Whoever brings them into the world wants to ensure that certain Questions do not arise in the first place. Unpleasant discussions are nipped in the bud. I’m offended because I am disgusted with infamous character assassins who put reasonable doubts about the integrity of politicians, scientists, and doctors in the same box as the belief in Pizzagate, flat earth, extraterrestrial reptilians, and the biblical act of creation. Because what I got to know as “science” in 14 years of high school and university corresponds less and less to what my professional colleagues think it is and pass it on to their audience undigested. And because I will not be forbidden to call the WHO corrupt, the rulers incompetent, researchers for sale, and the greed of pharmaceutical managers diabolical. And because I trust the propaganda power of large corporations, their PR agencies, and lobby troops no less than anything. Also, because I don’t want to bend over or shut up out of existential fear and because I know a lot of doctors and scientists who think like me. There are not enough. But there are more and more.
The chairman of the conference of interior ministers, Thuringia’s head of department Georg Maier, has just given an emphatic warning against “dangers from conspiracy theorists” like me. You “fill” him “with concern,” he told the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND). “Sure, a lot is absurd, and one might smile at it.” But the Hanau assassin had radicalized himself through conspiracy theories, among other things, Maier emphasized and added: “Much reminds of the citizens of the Reich. In the beginning, we also laughed at them. Until their views spread, and some of them got armed at some point. And this is one of the reasons why one now has to keep an eye on these conspiracy theorists. “
Just two days earlier, on April 22, 2020, President of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution Thomas Haldenwang had warned against false information about the Corona crisis from abroad. “For many countries, the corona pandemic is an opportunity to position themselves globally in an advantageous manner. In doing so, they spread disinformation, which is incorporated into the previous narratives,” he told the RND.
According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, “public safety and order can be threatened” by disinformation. If people were deliberately supplied with the wrong information, there would be uncertainty.
Only a doctor’s appointment prevented me from exercising my fundamental right to freedom of assembly on Wednesday, April 15, in front of the Heidelberg police building to express my solidarity with around 150 other people to the lawyer Beate Bahner on the occasion of her interrogation. (Shortly before, Ms. Bahner had filed a lawsuit with the Federal Constitutional Court against the Corona regulations of the federal states; she was then arrested, mistreated, and taken to a psychiatric clinic.) If I had been there, I would now be the target of a 12-person investigative group that “Set up the police headquarters on the instructions of police chief Andreas Stenger on the same day under the direction of the state security department.” Their “aim is to clarify the processes and identify the participants who” with their presence “violated the Corona Ordinance. Specialists in the field of forensic video analysis and forensic technicians are also involved in the investigation.
The fact that only suspicious figures can take to the streets for fundamental democratic rights seems to be a foregone conclusion for a large part of journalists. On May 1, 2020, so the so-called “Recherchezentrum” Correctiv knows, protests against Corona politics “a hodgepodge of left and right activists” who “unite sympathy for the Kremlin.” RBB24, the online branch of the ARD radio station Berlin-Brandenburg, without comment, spreads the insinuation of the Berlin Senator for the Interior, Geisel, that “right-wing extremists, left-wing extremists and aluminum hat wearers” are protesting against the corona restrictions – nobody else? In a Teletext message from April 25, 2020, the ARD only knows about Berlin demonstrators to say one thing: that among them are “many conspiracy theorists and right-wing populists” who protest against “restrictions of fundamental rights feared by them.” (1). A mere “fear”? An unfounded even? Protest the corona pandemic “, to the alienation of the RND. How dare free citizens face peaceful resistance against an unconstitutional prohibition not to be banned?.
As a citizen of Baden-Württemberg, since Monday, April 27, 2020, I have had to put on a mask before entering a shop or boarding an almost empty bus or train. After all, this serves to maintain a visually appealing appearance because otherwise, the foam would be visible in front of my mouth. Sachsen’s Minister of Social Affairs, Petra Köpping (SPD), believes this is precisely what is required, “in individual cases,” as she explained on April 10, 2020. Yes, such a procedure allows paragraph 30 of the Infection Protection Act: Anyone who does not comply with orders or who, based on previous behavior, can be assumed to not comply with them, is “to be forcibly separated by placement in a closed hospital or a closed part of a hospital.” There he may have to “tolerate the measures that serve to maintain the proper operation of the facility or to secure the purpose of the accommodation” – if necessary, also forced restraint and immobilization with psychotropic drugs. Meanwhile, the European Union has launched an “EU vs. Disinfo” campaign, deeply concerned because “Disinformation about COVID-19 continues to spread worldwide and may have negative consequences for public safety, health, and effective crisis communication “. Your public “database for disinformation” has already recorded around 8,400 alleged fakes, including the claim that the pandemic is being exaggerated. As the campaign office announced on April 24, 2020, at least this much has struck him: “In the Corona crisis, in particular, the Russian media are continuing to raise the mood against the international community with disinformation. In the past week alone, 45 cases of Kremlin-friendly false news have been added, 30 of them in connection with the coronavirus. “They were” shared, commented on and liked about 36,500 times on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Reddit “. Perhaps it was even the unmistakably Kremlin-friendly fake news that KLARTEXT has recently put into the panic virus-infested world like on an assembly line?
Nieder Sachsen Interior Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) has called for something like this to be banned. Because “Fake news in times of the corona crisis is hazardous,” he warned in the mirror. “They can cause panic and conflict and are therefore to be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Therefore, we have to deter with fines or even threats of punishment. “The federal government should finally act:” I ask the federal government to act in a coordinating manner and either to point out possibilities under the Infection Protection Act or to adapt the law on administrative offenses or the criminal code as soon as possible. It must be forbidden to publicly disseminate untrue claims about the supply situation of the population, the medical care or cause, ways of infection, diagnosis, and therapy of Covid-19. Krüger, with Dr. Wodarg, Dr. Schiffmann, Prof. Bhakdi, Prof. Lohse, Prof. Püschel, Prof. Mölling, Prof. Goetzsche, Prof. Ioannidis! Lock everyone up! Immediately!
According to Maier, the creations of dangerous conspiracy theorists like me are becoming more and more widespread because “more and more people are no longer using reputable media for information, but only using social networks.” For strengthening this trend, I would like to thank all the quality journalists who make people like Maier heard without criticism and quote him with approval.
At least the RND doesn’t need to quote anyone anymore; It already knows: The “originators (…) of a storm of influence campaigns that have raged over us in these weeks (…) have flooded social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Whatsapp groups for so long with distortions of reality until the verifiable fact for sheer false versions is only one version among many. (…) The virus clogs the lungs, disinformation the brains.” Who checks the cerebral condition of the RND editor who is exuding such an outrage? The RND is one of the largest editorial networks in Germany; it supplies more than 40 daily newspapers with a total circulation of more than 1.5 million copies, so it reaches around four million readers per day. This RND belongs to the media giant Madsack: 4000 employees, 681 million euros annual turnover (2018). Its largest limited partner is the Deutsche Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft (ddvg), the media holding company of the SPD – the ruling party that is jointly responsible for the state’s corona policy.

That’s how Joseph Goebbels formulated in a contemporary way.
