The US is OUT of the WHO

A historic moment: The United States has officially left the World Health Organization—with valid reasons that urgently need to be openly discussed here in Germany before the next pandemic alarm sounds.

On January 20, 2026, the White House issued a presidential decree that German mainstream media outlets are either concealing or criticizing: The United States is officially withdrawing from the World Health Organization (WHO). After the mandatory one-year notice period expired, the withdrawal became legally binding on January 22.

The order stops all further funding to the WHO—annual mandatory contributions had averaged $111 million; it withdraws all personnel from WHO headquarters and WHO offices, committees, governing bodies, management structures, and technical working groups; it suspends hundreds of US commitments; it ends negotiations on the “pandemic agreement” and the amendment of the International Health Regulations (IHR). At the same time, the presidential order directs a transition to alternative health partnerships based on transparency, accountability, and national sovereignty.

The US Department of Health and Human Services explains the reasons for the withdrawal in an online information sheet: “This decision was motivated by the WHO’s serious failures in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, which originated in Wuhan, China, its continued refusal to implement necessary reforms, and its lack of accountability, transparency, and independence.” The fact that China, Big Pharma, and billion-dollar foundations are exploiting the WHO also plays a role.

The response from Geneva was prompt: just one day later, the WHO issued an official statement asserting with certainty that future pandemics are inevitable. Significantly, while more and more member states are moving toward—or at least considering—regaining their authority on health issues and withdrawing from centralized, opaque control structures, the old system reflexively reaffirms its indispensability through tried-and-true scaremongering.

Instead of taking up the food for thought from Washington, politicians and media representatives in this country are rushing to shake their heads in indignation—as if this were just one of many idiotic acts under the presidency of an unpredictable madman. “There are only losers,” laments the news channel n-tv. The US withdrawal is a “serious blow” to the international response to global health crises, according to the notorious crisis manager Karl Lauterbach. This “endangers hundreds of thousands of people, especially a great many children” – as if the worldwide, side-effect-ridden coronavirus vaccination campaign under WHO direction had been harmless. Didn’t it rather promote hundreds of thousands to disability or the grave?

However, the move toward a more effective, credible global health policy, free of profit interests and corruption, could be over by 2029: if Trump then has to vacate the White House for an elected Democratic Party candidate, conditions are likely to return to those that existed under Biden’s presidency. Then America will want to return straight back under the WHO umbrella. You can bet that the next pandemic will take its time until then.
